Scratch That, Reverse It Headband
Sized for all ages, this double thick headband will keep you and everyone in the family warm this winter. A fun, matching headband to the Scratch That, Reverse It Mitts.
CONSTRUCTION - Beginning with a provisional cast-on, the headband is knit in the round. A stockinette section leads into the ribbing which is staggered at the halfway mark. The headband is finished with more stockinette and then the two edges are grafted together.
TECHNIQUES TO TRY - Provisional cast on, KFB’s, K2TOG’s, M1R’s and grafting.
SIZES - Child S/M, L (Adult S, M, L, XL)
INTENDED FIT -
Child S/M (Toddler), head circumference 17-18” or 42.5-45cm
Child L (Child), head circumference 20” or 50cm
Adult S, head circumference 21” or 52.5cm
Adult M, head circumference 22” or 55cm
Adult L, head circumference 23” or 57.5cm
Adult XL, head circumference 24” or 61cm
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS - Circumference of 15”, 17” (18”, 18.75”, 19”, 20”) or 37.5, 42.5 (45, 47, 47.5, 50)cm. Recommended to be worn with about 3-4” 7.5-10cm negative ease.
GAUGE - 21 stitches in 4” 10cm using US size 4 3.5mm needles, knit stockinette, in the round, after blocking.
YARN - Any worsted weight yarn that meets gauge. Holding 2 strands of fingering weight yarn or one strand of DK weight yarn along with one strand of mohair could also work.
